Quartzite is a hard metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Sandstone is converted into quartzite through heating and pressure usually related to tectonic compression.

Here is pretty crushed Red Quartzite from the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area in sizes from 3/4″ to 1 1/2″ or so. This rock is great for the rock tumbler, use it as is for fountains or other decorative uses.
