This is a very pretty gemstone heart carved from Carnelian from Madagascar. The lovely heart measures 2″ wide x 1 7/8″ tall x 1″ thick and has a nice polish. It has a nice mix of colors and fabulous banding all in an interesting design. Close inspection shows some healed fractures, common for Carnelian. Very nice! There is only one exactly like this available.

Carnelian is a red or reddish-brown variant of Chalcedony but also may come in the colors of orange and pink. It is quite common and usually found in translucent pebble form. It is found in several areas of Europe, Iceland and Madagascar.
