Here is a great find, an exceptional “Star” Rose Quartz sphere from Madagascar. The sphere measures 2 1/8″ in diameter with a good polish and lots of neat inclusions. It has great clarity, pretty rose color, “rainbow” reflections and a 3-D “star” when rotated in bright light as shown below. The amazing quality of this sphere is hard to find and won’t last long so get it while you can!

Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family that exhibits a pale Pink to Rose Red hue. The color is usually due to the trace amounts of Titanium, Iron or Manganese in the mass material. Some Rose Quartz contains microscopic Rutile needles which produce an asterism in transmitted light. An all-time favorite at The Rock Shed!
