This is an exceptional Rose Quartz sphere from Madagascar. It measures 3 1/8″ in diameter and has a very good polish. It has great clarity, amazing inclusions, “rainbow” reflections and a spectacular 3-D “star” (when rotated in bright light). Take note of the second photo below, this “star” was taken from a different sphere that gives a better representation of a “star” which is very difficult to capture in a photo. The sphere would make a nice gift for the sphere collector or just keep it for yourself.

Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family that exhibits a pale Pink to Rose Red hue. The color is usually due to the trace amounts of Titanium, Iron or Manganese in the mass material. Some Rose Quartz contains microscopic Rutile needles which produce an asterism in transmitted light. An all time favorite at the Rock Shop.
