Here is an exceptional set of Brazilian Agate bookends. This Blue (color enhanced) set measures 7 5/8″ wide x 5 3/8″ tall x 3″ with highly polished front and inner surfaces. The set has a gorgeous color, amazing banding, sparkling crystal, subtle “rainbow” reflections and great design. They can also be turned around to create a whole new design. A really great set!

Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition of silicates in the lava. The siliceous matter is deposited in regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.
