Sodalite is a rich royal blue mineral enjoyed as an ornamental stone. Although massive samples are opaque, Crystals are usually transparent to translucent. It is very similar to Lapis but without the Pyrite Crystals and distinguishable color differences. It makes great jewelry, cabochons and beads.
