This is a beautiful Dry Head Agate from Montana. It has amazing Agate banding and excellent design with the various red, tan and brown colors unique to Dry Head Agates. The lovely agate has been nicely polished on the front face and was obtained from a private collection. It measures 2 1/8″ x 1 5/8″ x 1 1/4″ thick. It may be small, but it’s packed with beauty!!! A one-of-a-kind gift.

Dry Head Agates are from the Bighorn Canyon area of Montana. The banding colors are usually bright orange with some white or pink bands on charcoal, light gray, whitish oranges or greenish matrix. Dry Head Agates are very rare and no longer available as the mining area is now part of a wild horse refuge. Dry Head Agates may be geologically similar to the Teepee Canyon and Fairburn Agates of the Black Hills area.
