These fossilized shrimp are of the species Carpopenaeus callirostris from the famous Cretaceous aged fossil beds near Ajoula, Lebanon.

This is an unique and very nice Fossil Shrimp specimen from Lebanon. The species is Carpopenaeus callirostris and are from the Cretaceous Age, some 90 million years ago. The highly detailed specimen has a very nice shrimp fossil measuring approximately 1″ x 1/2″ not including the antennae. The light colored Limestone matrix measures 2 1/8″ x 2″ x 3/8″ thick. Very cool!
