Orthoceras was a marine cephalopod, this particular species was straight shelled and they thrived some 400+ million years ago in the Paleozoic era.
This is a very interesting find! This is an Orthoceras fossil from Morocco. The Orthoceras fossil measures 5 1/2″ long x 2 3/8″ wide x 1/2″ thick. It has a good polish which shows well preserved Orthoceres fossils. Something different and very cool.
