Turritella are actually shells of the freshwater gastropod, Elimia tenera. These fossils are considered to be from the Eocene Epoch to the Cretaceous period in age.

Here’s a new item, a nice set of 2 Turritella from Maryland, USA. They are very well preserved and measure approximately 2 3/8″ x 7/8″, 2″ x 7/8″. They are not polished and would make a great addition to any collection.
