Orthoceras was a marine cephalopod, this particular species was straight shelled and they thrived some 400+ million years ago in the Paleozoic era.
Here is something different for the fossil collector. This is a very nice single Orthoceras. The fossil measures 6 1/2″ long x 2″ in diameter. The fossil Othoceras has nice detail and a good appearance. A very nice addition to your fossil collection.
