This outstanding specimen is unique as it’s three Ammonites together on matrix and is from Morocco.  All three Ammonites fossils show excellent detail and have an all natural finish.   They are fairly similar in size with the smallest Ammonite measures 4 1/4″ x approximately 3 3/4″ x almost 2″ thick and the largest Ammonite is 5 1/8″ x almost 4 1/4″ but is much thicker at nearly 2 1/4″.  The third Ammonite is not exposed enough to measure. Together this phenomenal specimen measures approximately 8 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ x 4 3/8″ and weighs 8 3/4 pounds.  The Ammonites can be displayed many different ways and look great.  Just an exceptional addition to any fossil collection!

Ammonites are extinct members of the cephalopod group of mollusks. Only a limited number of species have survived to the present day which includes the squid and the chambered nautilus. Ammonites had a multi-chambered shell, and added more chambers as it grew, always living in the outer chamber.  They lived in the Cretaceous period some 63 to 130 million years ago.
