GAL938: Mexican Lace Agate.
Locality: Mexico.
Selection: Polished and rough.
Appearance: This beauty has a unique design and appearance in the different colors and the excellent lace banding ranging from red. white and cream to various grays and browns with different accents in the banding. This amazing rock will fluoresce a gorgeous green and blue under a UV/SW light. This fabulous, rare agate is the sole creation from our Lapidary department.

Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters containing Silica in solution which is possibly derived from the decomposition of Silicates in the lava. The Siliceous matter is deposited in regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation. It is very unlikely that you would ever find an exact duplicate of any type of Agate, Fairburn or other.
