SP1011: Selenite Sphere.

Selection: Polished specimen.
Appearance: It has neat translucent or semitransparent areas on each end that allows you to see through the sphere. It has a hand ground shape and a fiber optic like center and will reflect the light in a cool way when rotated. This is softer material and there may be some scratches or nicks.
Approximate measurements: Diameter – 3″.
Availability: This is a similar to like item as they are all very close to appearance and size.

Selenite, also known as Satin Spar, Desert Rose and Gypsum Flower, are the four Crystalline varieties of Gypsum. It is a very soft material composed of Calcium Sulfate. Selenite is often transparent and colorless. If color is present it is often due to impurities or presence of other minerals.
