This is an exceptional Green (heat treated) Agate. This sphere measures 2 5/8″ and has a good polish. It has an interesting combination of various shades of green, mustard yellow and white colors and gorgeous Agate banding all in a mesmerizing design. An interesting sphere that would complete any collection.

Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition of silicates in the lava. The siliceous matter is deposited in regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.
