BCR422 Serape Jasper

BCR422 Serape Jasper

$30.00

BCR422: Serape Jasper.

Locality: Mexico.

Selection: This is a select piece of Sarape Jasper that Shawn has picked out. He says he sees something special in these. Whether it be that it needs thumbed, ground on and tumbled, cut and tumbled or cut and polished, he sees something. Whether you will see what he sees, or whether you can bring to fruition what he sees would be up to you. Of course, with all rocks, there are still risks. There could be fracture lines in the wrong place, the color may change or…Shawn could just be wrong. Regardless, these are much higher quality than our regular tumble material.

Please note: Display photos are shot under various light settings. Some photos are shot wet, to display a possible outcome, if polished.

Approximate measurements: LxWxH – 3 1/4″ x 1 7/8″ x 1 1/4″.

Description

Sarape Jasper, also spelled Serape Jasper, is a form of Jasper that comes from the Crazy Lace Mines in Mexico! Sarape Jasper also goes by another trademark name, from another miner; Zebra Jasper. Sarape Jasper is named after the traditional Sarape Blanket! It often has visually similar patterns as Crazy Lace and is usually highly silicated! It can take an excellent polish and is generally an easy stone to work with! It does have a higher iron content, which is where the red and black coloration is derived from!  This box is filled with meaty cutters, all showing great pattern and colorations, and some wild designs!  With Sarape Jasper becoming nearly impossible to find, this is certainly one batch you won’t want to miss out on!
