Here’s an amazing set of Purple/Teal (color enhanced) bookends made from Brazilian Agate. They have been cut and highly polished on the face and inner surfaces. They measure 7 5/8″ wide x 5 1/2″ tall x 3 5/8″ thick. They have a great mix of colors and Agate banding! They are a bit faded and this has been reflected in the reduced price. You can turn them around and create a whole new set!

Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition of silicates in the lava. The siliceous matter is deposited in regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.
