BCR410 Hand Picked Mexican Lace Agate

  • Here’s a new item, a gorgeous set of Hand Picked Mexican Lace Agates. It has a beautiful mix colors with fabulous banding.
  • A great rock for cutting and any lapidary project.
  • These are various sized Mexican Lace Agate that Shawn has picked out. He says he sees something special in these. Whether it be that it needs thumbed, ground on and tumbled, cut and tumbled or cut and polished, he sees something. Whether you will see what he sees, or whether you can bring to fruition what he sees would be up to you. Of course, with all rocks, there are still risks. There could be fracture lines in the wrong place, the color may change or…Shawn could just be wrong. Regardless, these are much higher quality than our regular tumble material.
  • These also fluoresce under a UV/SW light.
  • This particular select collection measures from 4 1/2″ to 5″ with a combined weight of  nearly  5 1/4 pounds.

Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition of silicates in the lava.  The siliceous matter is deposited in regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.
