Here is a beautiful Sphere carved from a Septarian Nodule from Madagascar. This unique Septarian sphere has a large and deep center cavity that shows the dark crystal center. It has an interesting exterior design of Brown Aragonite. It measures approximately 4 3/4″ in diameter with a nice exterior polish and weighs over 4 3/4 pounds. This sphere comes in 3 sections and fits together perfectly like a puzzle. Display in whole or in parts. The interesting sphere would make a great gift or a nice addition for your collection.

Septarian, also know as a type of Concretion, is a volume of sedimentary rock in which a mineral cement fills the porosity. Concretions are often ovoid or spherical in shape. They form within layers of sedimentary strata that has already been deposited. It is composed of a Carbonate mineral such as Calcite, a Silica such as Chert, Flint or Jasper or an Iron Oxide such as Goethite or Hematite. It is commonly found in Shale, Siltstones and Sandstones.
