Indigo Gabbro or Mystic Merlinite is a newly mined crystal from Madagascar. It has amazing colors from light indigo purple to black. Gabbro refers to a large group of dark, coarse-grained, intrusive mafic igneous rock chemically equivalent to Basalt. The vast majority of the Earth’s surface is underlain by Gabbro within the oceanic crust, produced by Basalt magmatism at mid-ocean ridges. Gabbro often contains valuable amounts of Chromium, Nickel, Cobalt, Gold, Silver, Platinum and Copper Sulfides. The name given to Merlinite is by no means a random act. It’s source in Cornwall, England has long been associated with the legend of King Arthur and his sorcerer Merlin.
