This is Black Hills Rose Quartz; due to the way it is mined it will contain some fractures.
An iron mineral staining occurs naturally in the mine. Even though this quartz is cleaned to remove this stain some pieces will have traces of this iron mineral.
For size reference, each piece weighs 1/3 to 1/2 of a pound.
In any 5 or 10 pound order, we will select an assortment of small to large fist size pieces for you.
Rose Quartz is a type of Quartz which exhibits a pale pink to rose red hue. The color is usually considered as due to trace amounts of Titanium, Iron or Manganese, in the massive material. Some Rose Quartz contains microscopic Rutile needles which produce an asterism in transmitted light.
